This lesson I have finally finished the video. I am planning to add some finishing touches to it to make it perfect. I am quite satisfied with this video presentation I have created but also partly disappointed because I know I could have done a much better job. This was because I think it was a bit rushed as I didn't use my time well and rushed it near the end. In the final video I have already added all the software I used to create the presentation such as Sony Vegas, Prezi and also Adobe Soundbooth. After I finished it I had to render the video into a Mpeg2 file as an AVI file would be much too big. Then after that I am now using Adobe Media Encoder to convert the MPEG2 file into a flv file that then can be put into our adobe portfolio. The key part of my video would be the audio and not the visuals as most of the video's are screen grabs from camstudio on creating the poster.
Through out this project I have learnt how to use Sony Vegas Pro 9 quite well. There were times when I couldn't do it at school but at home I managed to download Vegas Pro 9 trial and also Camstudio trial. I was also able to find the trials for Adobe Indesign and Xara extreme but they were all newer versions of the software and looked different. I found out that although they may be more updated than the older versions but they actually function quite similarly.
After doing this project I have learnt quite a lot about using a whole range of different softwares. I have especially learnt a lot on using video editing software and that would help me greatly in the future. Right now I am already getting many pieces of work to do with video editing and the new knowledge I learned about video editing software would benefit me greatly. Next time I would use the green screen more as this time I was rushing a bit and that did not allow me to have enough time to do it

4th October 2010

Today is almost to the due date of the presentation. At home I have already recorded all my voice pieces and now all that remains is to use cam studio to record my prezis. I Even though I found out I had quite a long script I shortened part of it and now the whole audio track is complete. I used Adobe soundforge as it can easily clear out unnecessary sounds from the audio clip. One problem I found was that when I recorded it I was too near the microphone which made the db go over and the sound not clear when I play it. I solved the problem through adobe by reducing the volume of the recording. Sound forge is the program that allows me to anything with an audio file and touch it up to perfection.

22nd September 2010

In this time I am going to work my hardest to finish my script and maybe even start recording the voice over for my video. In my video I am going to add a comparison for each tasks required to make the poster between the three different software. I have already decided to recommend Adobe Indesign to the audience because its the way I find that works best for creating the poster. Using Sony Vegas Pro 9 is also quite easy to create my video as there are all the features I need in it and it also has a wide range of effects to make my video much more interesting.

This is the introduction to my presentation . I used Prezi to create a presentation then downloaded it to my computer. While playing it I used camstudio to record so it can play automatically as a video. This was all very simple as the software were very easy to use and especially cam studio recorded any area you wanted to record

Today we have only got a short time left to finish our video. I am going to continue working on my script and also video. My plan is to make a video with the comparison of the three different software. I would also then work on my script so I can have a voice over on the video. As I don't have much time left I cannot work with the green screen or maybe I will at home. I have also tried out using Muvizu but found out it takes a long time for downloading and not really necessary for my video. I mainly need graphic works and especially many camstudio clips of examples of how each software works.

Today I have downloaded the introduction to my video. I made it through Prezi and then downloaded it in a winzip file on to my computer. At first I had problems opening the video but soon learnt that it was because I still had the connection between prezi and the video. I broke the connection by extracting the video files all together on to my drive. Then when I played the video I recored it with cam studio so it can play automatically during the presentation. This video then was put on to Sony Vegas pro 9.0. From here I can put soundtracks, more video effects etc. I found prezi quite easy to use as you can download it easily and then put it in video presentations

Today I am going to experiment quite a bit with Sony Vegas trying out as many ways to present as possible. Also try to a whole range of effects from this video program to make the presentation more interesting. For my presentation I have right now been thinking to make a prezi presentation then record it through screen cam. This is then put on to sony vegas and edited maybe with more effects. Then maybe I could also add a voice over or if not maybe even use the green screen to help on the video. Webcam in the corner while the video is playing maybe an another idea. However before doing all this I have to learn how to do it.
